What is the meaning of the word Salvation?
The meaning of the word “Salvation” originates from the Hebrew word called “Yeshua” which means; “He shall save, The Savior, or salvation”.
We are in the 8TH MONTH called “CHESHVAN” on God’s calendar: Started on 2nd November & Ends on 1st DECEMBER 2024
Yeshua – Our Savior:
Yeshua, Yahshua or Yehoshua comes from the root ישע yod-shin-‘ayin in Hebrew,
meaning “to deliver, savior, save, or rescue”. (Jewish Encyclopedia).
Heavenly and physical Promised land:
Liken to Yehoshua (Joshua) who brought Israel into their physical promised land,
Yeshua will also bring God’s people into their Heavenly promised land.
To be saved from the forces of destruction, accusations and evil dictatorship, or to be delivered from Egypt.
Salvation is the state of being saved or protected from harm.
It may also be called “deliverance” or “redemption” from sin and its effects.
Depending on the religious tradition, salvation is considered to be caused by one’s faith in God.
The attributes of kindness, generosity, prayer, giving of offering, repentance, fulfillment of a mitzvot,
the celebrating of Passover are some of the good deeds which can elevate one’s life into the status of obtaining salvation.
The name Yehoshua has the form of a compound of “Yeho-” and “shua“: Yeho- יְהוֹ is another form of יָהו Yahu,
standing for the name of God יהוח (the Tetragrammaton YHVH, sometimes transcribed into English as Yahweh- Jehovah),
YHVH also representing the 4 angels (Gabriel, Michael, Ariel and Raphael,
also being the 4 corners or horns on the altar of sacrifice and incence – corresponding to the 4 river heads which were located in the Garden in Eden).
The 4 angels – 4 corner of the talits (prayer Shawl):
Gabriel = angel of the Holy Spirit -bring God’s message
Michael = angel of Warfare – fights for Israel
Ariel = angel of minerals which contained in the earth
Raphael = angel of healing.
And שׁוּעַ shua‘ is a noun meaning “a cry for help”, “a saving cry”, that is to say, a shout given in need of rescue.
(He who calls upon His name shall be saved 2 Samuel 22:2, Psalm 34:6, Psalm 107:19, Romans 10:13).
Together, the name would then literally mean, “God is a saving-cry,” that is to say, shout to God when in need of help.
In Judaism, Islam, and Christianity it is stated as the saving of the soul from sin and its consequences.
