Gender neutral is the idea that people SHOULD NOT be distinguished by their gender in social institutions, language, or policies. It can also refer to things that are not associated with either men or women.
Examples of gender neutral
Gender neutral language: Language that avoids gender references, such as using “chair” instead of “chairman”
Gender neutral titles: Using “Mx.” as a gender neutral honorific
Gender neutral pronouns:
Using pronouns like “they” instead of “he” or “she”
Gender neutral names:
Using names like “Joey” instead of “Joseph” or “Josephine”
Gender neutral toys:
Toys that are fun and eco-friendly, and not specifically for boys or girls. If a boy finds himself playing with dolls (that belong to the female gender),
that notion can be very well encouraged and strengthened through gender neutral movement, because there is a gender neutral saying that declares;
A young boy could be a female who is trapped in a male’s body, or vise versa.
Gender neutral movement
The gender neutrality movement is the idea that social institutions, language, and policies should not distinguish people by their gender.
Negative side effects caused by gender neutrality:
Today in some of the europea countries where Gender neutrality is emphasized in schools, and edited into people’s lives through political and social influence, places like Sweden;
children (female in gender) in their (teen-age, and youth), can become very angry, and even act violently towards any person who addresses them as she, or he,
because they consider themselves as humans who do not belong to any gender (they are not female, and they are not male).
California joined Oregon in its effort to recognize gender neutrality. On 15 October 2017, California governor Jerry Brown signed new legislation into law that allows persons the option to select gender-neutral on state identification cards
On 9 October 2021, governor Gavin Newsom signed California Assembly Bill 1084 requiring many department stores in California to maintain a gender neutral children’s section.
