A drag queen is a person, usually male, who uses drag clothing and makeup to imitate and often exaggerate female gender signifiers and gender roles for entertainment purposes.

Historically, drag queens have usually been gay men, and have been a part of gay culture.
Gay culture is a culture that has men who claim their rights as women, or individuals who feel that they were born in the wrong body…
Possessing a private part of a male gender, but carrying in their body desires, emotions, and sexual passions which makes them feel like they are women and not men.
Some drag Queens have gone as far as doing operations that changes them from being men, into the status of becoming women.
Drag usually involves cross-dressing. A drag queen is someone (usually male) who performs femininely and a drag king is someone (usually female) who performs masculinely.
Performances often involve comedy, social satire, and at times political commentary.
The term may be used as a noun as in the expression in drag or as an adjective as in drag show.
The gay culture has promoted its interests mostly via the arts of performance, where cross dressing occurs (men dressing up like women, and women playing roles where they wear men’s clothings).
Due to the fact that stage performances, movies, drag shows, carnivals, streap bars, festivals, street demostrations, casinos, bars are places which have been used to promote the entertainment performed by drag Queens,
and drag Kings who belong to the gay culture, this has enabled such activities which puts gay behaviors upfront to be accepted as an art of amusement.
This act of drama, amusement and show off has recently become a pride gay movement, and ligalized policy of a people (LGTB community of transgender, homosexual, lesbians, queers etc),
who claim for their democratic human rights to be accepted, and they are also trying to get rid of the biblical law which declares that “homosexuality is sin”.
