Rosh Hashanah activity for the children, and family:
Why do we dip apples in honey?
Cut the apple in pieces and put them on the plate and also have honey there.
Let each child take a piece and dip it in the honey and then eat it…..
What does it mean to dip apples in honey?
The dipping of apples in honey is a custom done on the very first day that begins a Hebrew Jewish New year on God’s calendar.
Symbolizing that;
as the apple dip in honey tastes sweet, so the whole year we also be a sweet year for those who are dipping their apples in honey.
Prayer that you should speak out loud with the children:
Blessed be the Lord God, the King of the universe who has commanded us to eat apples dipped in honey,
So that we may have a new blessed New year!
Shanah Tov!
